Our Medical Team

Dr. Mandy Thompson, MD, Medical Director

Dr. Mandy Thompson is a Texas native who grew up in a little town outside of Lubbock as the daughter and granddaughter of Texas farmers. She received her Bachelor of Science at Texas Tech University and attended Medical School at UT Health Science Center at Houston. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency at University of Alabama at Birmingham and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine.

As an avid scuba diver, Dr. Thompson has explored many oceans and has completed over 850 dives! This maritime exploration has given her an opportunity to practice another hobby — underwater photography. In between aquatic adventures, Dr. Thompson lives in McKinney, TX with her pet Schnoodles, Maci and Luna, whose playful antics keep her entertained.

Merina Johnson, A.C.N.P.

During the ten years she spent in New York before moving to Texas, Merina received her degree as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from the College of New Rochelle. Happily married to Stanley, her husband of twenty three years, she’s also been blessed with two great children, Amanda and Kevin. In addition to regular travel to India, Merina and her husband love to explore the U.S and its many exciting destinations. Her secret passion is watching cooking shows and listening to Christian music.

James Mixon, D.C.

A practicing chiropractor for over 13 years, Dr. Mixon enjoys the many opportunities he has had to help people overcome back and joint pain without surgery. He balances his busy office schedule with time spent with his wife and four children. On days off he is happiest when attending his children’s soccer games, dance recitals and scouting events. Recently, he returned to school and is now studying for his Nurse Practitioner’s degree.
